About me

Welcome, I’m Melissa – founder of The Blissful Yogi.

I’m so glad you found your way here, my hope is to guide you through the peaceful, holistic path of yoga – one that embraces strength, softness and everything in between. Life can be hard at times, and I've found, yoga helps.

I’m a 46-year-old mum of two wonderful girls, wife, daughter, and dog mumma. My relationship with yoga began in my early 20ies. I was drawn to the way of life but never felt “flexible enough” or consistent enough with my physical practice to call myself a yogi, but nevertheless I dipped in and out. That changed after the birth of my second daughter almost 12 years ago, when I started experiencing persistent back pain.

That’s when my real yoga journey began.

Yoga not only relieved my back pain – it helped me reconnect with my body, quiet my mind, and face the beautiful messiness of life with a more calm and grounded nature. What started as a remedy soon become a passion, and I felt called to share it with others. Seven years ago, I completed my first teacher training, and today I’m proud to be a 500 hours + certified yoga teacher, reiki master and retreat space holder.

What's on offer at the Blissful Yogi

It has been my joy and privilege to share in-person yoga with my local community over the past 7 years. Over that time my schedule has evolved, and I'm now delighted to offer 3 in-person weekly classes in the beautiful villages of Horstead and Coltishall just a short 10–15-minute drive from Norwich.

To offer more flexibility to my teaching I will be also launching an online library of yoga classes, available to everyone with a membership package anytime you need to get out of your head and into your body, these are updated weekly. Whether you're new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice, in a safe and sustainable way, there is something Blissful for you here.
